AICurrent eventsNon-fictionSoftwareI just walked a complete half-marathon in 3 hours, 27 seconds, which was 28 seconds longer than I had hoped. I had a slower pace than last weekend's AIDS 10k, primarily because it was more than twice as far. That said, my 10k split today was only 1:40 slower than the AIDS 10k, and my pace was pretty consistent the whole walk today. (Of course, my last 5 were slightly faster than my first 5, which is something.)
The sun has come out, with cool temperatures perfectly suited for taking a walk. I had planned to do my annual marathon walk today, but for a couple of reasons I have to postpone it. Instead, I've planned a half-marathon walk that should take me about three hours. Cassie, meanwhile, is about to get some overdue play time with her day camp pack.
The remnants of Hurricane Polo made it to Chicago yesterday, so we've had nearly non-stop rain for 30 hours or so. I did manage to give Cassie a couple of modest walks this morning, but then I got sucked into a project that I am just coming out of.
Less than five weeks to go
We have 34 days until the 2026 midterm elections in the US, and whoo boy is it shaping up to be historic.
I can get used to some of this

I had a lot going on this weekend and didn't have time to offload my phone's photos until this morning. Here are three.
As of last night, both Chicago teams have made it to the post-season as wild cards. The Cubs and Sox both got to 2nd place in their divisions with just enough of a lead over the 3rd place teams to sneak into the wild card race. So while the White Sox and Cubs were fighting for second place, the entire AL West are below .500, meaning we will have a division winner this year with a losing record.
